Those of you who are familiar with the The Escapist Magazine or the (in)famous “Jimmy: The World of Warcraft Story” machinima may have heard of Unforgotten Realms, a webshow about two guys trying play a Dungeons and Dragons pastiche by the name of Unforgotten Realms.
The show’s creator, animator, writer, voice actor, everything-er, Robert Moran lost his job with the Escapist due to cutbacks and, after several failed attempts at self-funding, Unforgotten Realms became… forgotten.
Now, two years later, Robert Moran is back, and he’s decided that instead of just making new episodes of Unforgotten Realms, he’ll make it into an entire videogame!
Unforgotten Quest is a 1-4 player 2D RPG with two races, six classes, and a level editor that makes the Perpetual Testing Initiative look lacking. Focusing on a humor-driven, fourth-wall breaking story (the bad guy will actually go into your character’s inventory and break your favorite item), it needs to raise $100,000 by December 18 to reach its planned November 2014 release date. They’ve already raised over 18,000 in their fist day, so go and pledge yourselves to Sir Schmoopy!
